A Legacy in Clay
Founded in 1985 by master artisan Mateo Garcia, Valencia Artisan Ceramics began as a small, dusty workshop tucked away in the historic Barrio del Carmen. Mateo's vision was simple: to preserve the authentic techniques of Valencian Majolica—a vibrant style of tin-glazed pottery that dates back centuries.
Today, the studio is run by his daughter, Elena, who has expanded the workshop to welcome visitors from all over the world. Our mission remains unchanged: to share the beauty, patience, and joy of traditional Spanish ceramics with anyone willing to get their hands a little messy.
Our Philosophy
We believe that in a fast-paced, digital world, taking the time to shape something physical from earth and water is a radical and necessary act of mindfulness. When you join our studio, you aren't just making a plate or a bowl; you are connecting with a craft that has defined the Mediterranean for millennia.
